1 Batch Onion Rings
1lb Ground Chuck
1 Medium Spanish Onion (finely diced)
2T Garlic (finely chopped)
½ Medium Green Bell Pepper (finely diced)
1 Fresh Jalapeño Pepper (deseeded and minced)
1t Coarse Salt
1T Worcestershire Sauce
1 Cup Canned Crushed Tomatoes
4 Hamburger Buns, toasted
4 Slices of Cheddar Cheese
1. Combine ground chuck, onion, garlic, bell pepper and jalapeño pepper in a large pan over medium heat. Season with salt and pepper. Cook, stirring frequently to break up the beef, about 20 minutes. Spoon off and discard grease from pot.
2. Add worcestershire sauce and crushed tomatoes, stirring to combine.
3. Bring to a simmer over medium-high heat and cook, stirring often, until thickened, about 5 minutes.
4. Scoop a generous portion of sloppy joe filling onto each bun; top with a slice of cheese. Place 3 fried onion rings over cheese, finish with top half off bun.
